PCB manufacturing: multilayer, flex and rigid-flex boards
Precision bare boards from one to 70 layers, made in UL and ISO 9001 certified facilities and tested before they leave the factory.
Manufacturing capabilities
Our manufacturing partners keep investing in state-of-the-art automation and process technology, so we can take on complex, sensitive boards that many UK suppliers turn away.
| Specification | Capability |
|---|---|
| Layer count | 1 to 32 layers as standard, up to 70 layers on request |
| Board thickness | Up to 7.2 mm |
| Board types | Rigid, flex and rigid-flex |
| Monthly capacity | Around 1,000 different board designs and 10,500 production sheets (1200 x 1000 mm) a month across metal-core, double-sided and multilayer lines |
| Flex copper | Rolled annealed (RA) and electro-deposited (ED) copper |
| Soldermask | Photoimageable soldermask in a range of colours |
| Profiling | Routing, V-cut and scoring |
| Typical lead time | 2 to 5 days for bare boards, depending on complexity |
| Quantities | Single prototypes to high-volume production |
| Certification | UL and ISO 9001 certified manufacturing sites |

Flex and rigid-flex, done properly
Flexible circuits live or die on material choice. Copper thickness matters, but so does grain structure. We advise on rolled annealed copper where your circuit must bend repeatedly and electro-deposited copper where cost and rigidity matter more.
Getting this right at the design stage prevents cracked traces in the field. Our PCB design team can specify the stack-up for you.
Testing and quality assurance
Every PCB goes through a series of checks at the manufacturing site. Our UK quality team reviews the results before your boards ship.
Visual and AOI inspection.
Automated optical inspection catches track, pad and soldermask defects that the eye can miss.
Electrical test.
Bed-of-nails or flying-probe testing confirms every net is connected, and nothing is shorted.
X-ray inspection.
Reveals internal layer registration and hidden joints on dense multilayer boards.
In-circuit test (ICT).
Tests individual components and their electrical characteristics on assembled boards.
Outgoing and reliability tests.
Final inspection and reliability testing before anything is packed and shipped.
Free design review.
Every order is checked before production starts, to eliminate errors and save you cost and time.
PCB manufacturing FAQs
How many layers can you manufacture?
We manufacture boards from single and double-sided up to 70 layers, including flex and rigid-flex constructions.
How quickly can you manufacture PCBs?
In most cases bare PCB manufacturing takes 2 to 5 days depending on complexity. We will confirm the lead time with your quote.
What testing do your PCBs go through?
Every board goes through visual inspection, automated optical inspection (AOI), electrical test and X-ray where required. In-circuit testing, outgoing inspection and reliability testing are also available.
Are your manufacturing sites certified?
Yes. Our manufacturing partners operate UL and ISO 9001 certified facilities with a proven quality management system.
Can I choose the PCB colour?
Yes. We supply boards in a range of soldermask colours, which many customers use to tell products, projects or revisions apart.
